Connect an agent

Step 2 of the path: issue a one-time enrollment key, install HolyAgent, enter a model key and connect the first channel.

Step 2 of 3. Takes two to three minutes. At the end the Nodes card shows an agent that is online, with a version and a connected channel.

What you do

HolyAgent is the only thing installed on your side. It enrolls in the organization with a one-time key, receives a permanent key, keeps it locally and from then on asks the cloud for work itself. No inbound ports or public IP are needed: the machine can sit behind NAT.

Steps

  1. In HolyCode open Workforce → Nodes → “Agent enrollment key…”. Set the agent name (lowercase Latin letters, digits, ., _, -) and a validity period, 72 hours by default. The key is shown once and works only for that name.
  2. Download HolyAgent for Mac and open it. The first-run wizard asks for:
    • the enrollment key from step 1;
    • a model key: Anthropic, OpenAI or Google. It is stored encrypted on the machine.
  3. Wait for the agent to appear in the Nodes card with a status and version. The one-time key is spent; an unused one can be revoked in the same card.
  4. In the agent panel open Channels and connect the first one: Telegram is the fastest to try; WhatsApp, Instagram and voice work the same way, the wizard shows what each needs.

On a server without a panel the agent needs three environment variables: the organization address, the agent name and the enrollment key; the Docker image is being prepared for publication.

What you have

  • A node in Nodes: online, version, a connected channel.
  • The agent receives the roles of the team you published on step 1 and waits for work.

If something is off

  • The agent does not appear in Nodes: check that the name in the key matches the name in the wizard and that the key has not expired; issue a new one.
  • No tasks arrive: the task needs connectors the node lacks (for example, WhatsApp is not connected); connect the channel or pick a role without it.
  • Paused: if the agent is on a budget or operator pause, lift it in the node card; started tasks finish, new ones wait.
